TEHRAN -- Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that unity of people will be the best weapon to disappoint the Bush administration.

The U.S. president's statement about Iran is repetition of the big mistakes made by the United States in the past, he said.

In a meeting with Education Ministry officials, the Leader said that Iranian people once again will display magnificently their national unity in order to disappoint the American officials.

The Leader said that U.S. president's latest remark is a lesson for the Iranian nation to see how the enemies are seeking an opportunity to regain their dominance over Iran and take revenge on the Iranian nation for their national resolve to attain independence and not to yield to the big powers.

The Leader said that the United States was attempting to sow discord between political parties under guise of supporting one group while in reality it does not accept any of them, IRNA reported.

Even if the Iranian people reach a point that the United States supports a certain political party, they will not accept that group, the Leader said.

This conspiracy of the United States also failed, the Leader said. "Mr. President Khatami's response to U.S. president's statement was a slap in the mouth. The other political parties also strongly responded and condemned any interference in Iran's domestic affairs," Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out.

The U.S. president speaks about Iranian national resolve to go ahead with progress, while, the U.S. administration spares no efforts to throw obstacles to the Iranian government's efforts with support from international organizations to speed up the process of development in Iran, the Leader said.

The Iranian national aspiration to make progress has become in parallel with their hatred of the U.S. administration, the Leader said.

"Today, Iran is not the only place where the U.S. flag is being set ablaze, but rather the same is being done in the entire world even in Europe," the Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the United States is against Iran's reform program and it is seeking a reform separate from Iran's national agenda.

Nationwide rally will be held on Friday to denounce the U.S. president's interventionist statements about Iran.
